A man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Peoria teen during an attempted armed robbery in 2023.

A Peoria County jury on Wednesday convicted Byron A. Jarvis of first-degree murder in an August 2023 fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in the East Bluff neighborhood.

Walter Artis, 28, pleaded guilty in September to shooting 22-year-old Alexis Boland several times at a Dunlap home.
