A 15-year-old motorcycle racer from Colorado who was injured in a crash during an event nearly two weeks ago in Bartonville has died, prompting an investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

The Peoria County Coroner has identified the victims of early Saturday morning's fatal shooting, car chase and crash as a 52-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from the city's South Side.

A 17-year-old girl died early Thursday after the vehicle she was in was struck by another vehicle that fled from a traffic stop in Peoria’s East Bluff neighborhood.

A Peoria man found dead inside an East Bluff residence Monday suffered fatal injuries that prompted a homicide investigation, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said the body of a Peoria man recovered from the Illinois River likely was in the water for at least eight hours.

One woman is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing Tuesday night on the western edge of Downtown Peoria.

Coroner Jamie Harwood said Ashley N. Stenson, 42, of Atlanta, Ga., was pronounced dead at 7:03 p.m. Friday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Stenson died of multiple gunshot wounds and died instantly, according to the autopsy.

Coroner Jamie Harwood said Marnelius Alexander, 23, of Peoria, was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m. Thursday. Harwood said Alexander died of a gunshot wound to the chest and died instantly.

The incident is Peoria's first fatal shooting of 2026.

A 42-year-old Peoria man is dead after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night near the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino in East Peoria.
