A 35-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in Rome on Monday morning.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said in a social media post that emergency crews were called to Illinois Route 29 and Knox Street at about 7:15 a.m. for a reported crash with serious injuries.
The woman died at a Peoria hospital, Harwood said. Her identity has not been released pending notification of family.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police.
