Peoria Woman Identified In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash

Peoria police arrested a woman in connection with a fatal crash on Friday.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the passenger who was killed in a three-vehicle, hit-and-run crash Friday in Peoria.Harwood said Cherish Coleman, 30, of Peoria, died from blunt force injuries she suffered after being pinned under the vehicle that flipped over in the 100 block of South Western Avenue.

Harwood said Coleman died instantly. Toxicology tests are pending.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. Three other people were hospitalized, including one other person who had to be extricated from their vehicle. Their conditions are not available.

Peoria police on Saturday said 40-year-old Diana Marie Schick was arrestedon drunk driving, hit-and-run and other charges in connection with the crash. Police said Peoria County sheriff’s deputies found the vehicle and suspected driver in West Peoria.

Schick was booked at the Peoria County Jail.
