Police have identified a body found in a rural area west of Kewanee late last week as a man who had been reported missing.

According to the Kewanee Police Department, an autopsy by the Henry County Coroner’s Office identified the body as Catrelle Reed, 39, of Kewanee. Reed was reported missing on May 22.

The body was found by a concerned citizen searching his rural properties on Friday. Officials have not released any information regarding Reed's cause of death.

Police said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Reed’s disappearance and death is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kewanee Police Department, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, or the Illinois State Police.
