The Peoria County coroner has tentatively identified a body found in a South Peoria home after asking the public for help.

Coroner Jamie Harwood said his office was called to a home in the 1000 block of South Shelley Street around 10 p.m. Saturday for a man found deceased. Harwood said the man was not the homeowner and had no clear identification on him.

Harwood described the man found dead as white, between the ages of 25 and 35 with “reddish/strawberry blond hair” and a red beard. Harwood said the man’s height is between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches.

The man was wearing a black T-shirt and has several tattoos that are pictured on the coroner’s Facebook page.

As of Monday morning, Harwood said public assistance led to a tentative positive identification.
