A Peoria man was sentenced Wednesday to 72 years in prison for the 2023 murder of his girlfriend.
Walter Artis, 28, pleaded guilty in September to shooting 22-year-old Alexis Boland several times at a Dunlap home. Artis fled the scene, but was later arrested at a Morton gas station. Artis and Boland had two children together.
Artis must serve 100% of his sentence.
