15-year-old was victim of fatal Friday shooting in Peoria

Yellow police tape stretches across a blurry crime scene. It says "Police Line Do Not Cross." The text "WCBU Police and Fire" lays on top of that photo.

A 15-year-old was the victim of a fatal shooting Friday in Peoria.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Jabbarius Highsmith was shot multiple times. He was found in the 1600 block of N.Great Oak Road just before 7 p.m.

Highsmith was pronounced dead in an operating room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center about two hours after police were called.

Police don't have any suspects. Anyone with more information is asked to contact authorities.
