Tazewell County Coroner: Indiana man killed in two-vehicle collision

An ambulance with its lights on. The text "WCBU Police and Fire" is laid on top of that photo.

A two-vehicle crash Saturday in rural Tazewell County claimed the life of a 76-year-old Indiana man.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley on Monday reported James Bachman of Fishers, Ind., died at 10:20 p.m. on the scene of the collision at the intersection of U.S. Route 24 and Dee-Mack Road, between Washington and Eureka.

Hanley said preliminary autopsy results indicate Bachman died from multiple blunt force injuries; toxicology tests are pending.

The case remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, and Hanley’s office.
