Coroner: Peoria double homicide victim was pregnant

Initial autopsy results show one of the victims of yesterday’s double homicide was in her first trimester of pregnancy.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says toxicology results are pending for 29-year-old James Irby Jr. and 24-year-old KeiAmber Beard.  They were found yesterday morning with multiple gunshot wounds at 12-04 West Margaret Avenue.

Ingersoll says Beard’s pregnancy was estimated at eight to nine weeks.

It’s unclear whether the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s office could bring additional charges in the case.
A statement from the police department says an investigation into the shootings indicates the victims possibly knew the suspect or suspects involved. Two children were reportedly at the home at the time of the shooting, but neither one was injured.
