The man found under the eastbound Interstate 74 University Street overpass is identified as 31 year old Daren Potts.
Potts was hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation Monday at Unity Point Health and left the hospital without being discharged this morning at 9:45.
Peoria county Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says a witness saw Potts fall from the overpass. The 911 call came in 95 minutes after Potts left the hospital. He was found 1.3 miles from the hospital.
Potts’ mother reports he had been diagnosed with alcohol induced psychosis and hospitalized for anxiety in October.
