A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting at Bradley Park in April.

The Peoria Police Department said Marcus Triplett Jr., 18, was arrested Tuesday during execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of North Manchin Avenue.

The search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation tied to the death of Jarvis Allison Jr., 17. Allison suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center about four hours after the incident in the park.

Police say a handgun equipped with an extended magazine, ammunition and other firearm components were found during Thursday’s search. Triplett was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful gun possession and other weapons violations.

The police department said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to come forward.
