The Peoria Police Department is requesting assistance while investigating multiple shooting incidents Sunday, including the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male at Bradley Park on the city’s northwest side.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at Bradley Park at approximately 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said officers encountered a chaotic scene with multiple people fleeing on foot and by car. The juvenile victim was located with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The identity of the victim and official cause of death have not yet been released by the Peoria County Coroner.

A preliminary investigation indicates shots were fired at multiple locations throughout the park, authorities said.

The incident was the third shooting within a two-hour time period.

Two teenagers were transported to the hospital following an exchange of gunfire at Stadium Park earlier that evening. Officers responded at around 5:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired and located the two victims, ages 16 and 17, one with a gunshot wound to the chest and another in the upper arm.

Investigators determined one of the juveniles was in possession of a stolen firearm.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police dispatched to the 6700 block of North Mountello Drive on the city’s north side, about five miles from both parks. Officers found evidence that a car and residence had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Police said all three incidents remain active and ongoing investigations. The department is urging anyone who witnessed any of the incidents or has knowledge of those involved to contact Detective Scott Hulse at 309-494-8391. Hulse is also collecting digital evidence such as photos or videos from any of the scenes.

Tips can be sent anonymously through tip411 or Crime Stoppers at 309-673-9000.
