A 62-year-old Peoria man has been identified as the person who died in a two-vehicle accident early Thursday on Interstate 74 near the Morton exit.

In a post on social media, Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said Elbert Robinson died at the scene.

Preliminary autopsy findings indicate Robinson suffered multiple blunt force injuries in the collision.

Three other people were injured in the crash that closed the interstate for nearly four hours. Their conditions have not been reported.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police.
