Illinois Central College is in the process of transitioning a vast majority of its courses to eight-week schedules by the 2026 fall semester.

Seeking more public input on deciding who will be the institution’s next president, Illinois Central College will host public forums with the remaining candidates.

ICC’s presidential search committee has narrowed the field of possible replacements for Sheila Quirk-Bailey to three finalists.

Each candidate has separate visits to the East Peoria campus scheduled on March 5, 9 and 10. Those visits will include one-hour forums at 4 p.m. each day.

The three remaining candidates have not been identified publicly, as the college looks to “honor the integrity of the search process and respect the professional responsibilities of the finalists,” according to a press release.

Feedback gathered during the public forums will help guide the Board of Trustees in making its selection.

In September, ICC sought feedback from students, employees and other community members through focus groups, online meetings and an online survey before the search process got started.

Quirk-Bailey retired from her position in December after 10 years as president. Bruce Budde has filled the role in an interim capacity since her departure.
