Prosecutors have filed murder charges against two more people in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy last week at a West Bluff residence.

The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office on Thursday charged Cortez Smith, 18, and Jafari Robinson, 27, with first-degree murder in the Oct. 1 killing of Keyaun Hardimon, whose body was found in a rolled up carpet inside a home in the 2400 block of North Sheridan Road.

Curtis Jones, 18, is also charged with first-degree murder in the case. Robinson was previously charged with concealment of a homicidal death prior to facing the additional murder charge. All three suspects remain in custody.

Peoria Police Department officers responded to the scene of the crime shortly before 8 a.m. after a report of shots fired. After Jones initially refused to let them inside, another resident allowed them to check the house for possible shooting victims.

Police found Robinson hiding in a bathroom with a spent shell casing in his pocket, along with a large amount of blood and bullet-damaged furniture in the basement.

The state’s attorney’s office says the investigation continues. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Peoria police at 309-673-4521.
