A 22-year-old Peoria man has died from injuries suffered in a car crash Friday evening in Tazewell County.

In a media release posted on Facebook, the Peoria County coroner confirmed Deontay J. Page was killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision near Bartruff Lane and Edgewater Drive (Illinois Route 98).

Officials were dispatched to the scene after a 911 call around 6:56 p.m. Friday, the report said. Page was among the people injured; he was transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:46 p.m.

The coroner and Tazewell County sheriff have not released additional details about the number of injured victims, the nature of the crash or whether Page was a driver or a passenger. According to the coroner's report, a toxicology report is pending and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Officials reopened the section of Route 98 where the crash took place at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office.
