Police: Peoria man dies after Saturday afternoon shooting

A man has died after a shooting Saturday afternoon in Peoria.

Police spokesperson Semone Roth said a ShotSpotter alert of 15 rounds fired went off around 1:13 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene at the 2800 block of NE. Madison and found an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was later identified by the coroner as 34-year-old Demarquis Richardson of Peoria. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

There is currently no suspect information. The case remains under investigation.
