Peoria man dies after being struck in head by brick allegedly thrown by a juvenile

A Peoria man is dead after a brick was thrown at his head last week.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said 50-year-old Tony Collier died Monday morning from the severe blunt force head trauma he suffered in the incident last Wednesday. His organs were donated.

Peoria police said 14-year-old boy threw the brick during an argument with Collier at Garden and Ligonier on the city's South Side. The youth then fled the scene, but was later located and arrested for aggravated battery.

Harwood said the case is now under investigation as a homicide.
