Peoria teenager shot in head last weekend dies from injuries

A Peoria teenager who was shot in the head last Saturday has died from his injuries.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 18-year-old Davion Parker was pronounced brain dead Thursday afternoon at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. An autopsy is scheduled following organ donation.

Peoria police responded to a report of shots fired in the 3400 block of W. Oakcrest Saturday evening. They found Parker in a vehicle left in the middle of the road with a gunshot wound to his head.

The incident is still under investigation. There is no suspect information. Anybody with information is asked to call the Peoria Police Department at (309) 673-4521, contact tip411 anonymously, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (309) 673-9000.

This is Peoria's second reported homicide of 2023.
