A Peoria woman has died following a two-vehicle crash Monday morning on Peoria's south side.

The incident happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of SW Washington and Chicago streets.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Ashley Gase, 22, was a backseat passenger in a car that collided with a pickup truck. He said she suffered multiple blunt force injuries and died instantly.

Three other people suffered injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Peoria firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life and cutters to free the individuals.
