Peoria police were called to the 2100 block of North Gale Avenue around 1:25 a.m. Saturday for a report of a person shot. Officers found a man inside a vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Peoria County State's Attorney's Office says Peoria police stopped a potential school shooting planned by an area teen.

The Peoria Police Department said officers were called at 9:48 a.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of North Park Road for a report of a body found in a creek.

Bradley University police say the man was not affiliated with the school, noting the evidence suggests the victim was targeted, and the shooting was not random.
