Peoria Police are working to find out more about a baby found dead in Peoria Monday night.
According to a press release, a call reporting a deceased child brought police to the 2400 block of North Peoria Avenue. Police say the child was unresponsive, not breathing and pronounced dead at the scene.
The child's mother, 25-year-old Andrea Luncsford, was arrested by police for endangering the health and life of a child.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says he will release more information, including the baby’s name, age and cause of death, following an autopsy.
Police say the incident is still under investigation.
