Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a 2024 murder in north Peoria.

Peoria Police announced the arrest of two 17-year-old boys Friday. Daquan Diggs and Harrington Wadlington were identified as suspects in the homicide of 22-year-old Clay Megan in November.

Peoria County State's Attorney Jodi Hoos says Diggs and Wadlington's case will automatically be transferred to adult felony court due to their age and the charge of first-degree murder.

The teens are also charged with burglary.

A hearing on the state's petition to detain Diggs and Wadlington until trial is scheduled for Monday.

Both were arrested Thursday and taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

On November 4, Peoria Police responded to the 8900 block of North Scrimshaw Drive on a report of four people breaking into vehicles. Police received reports of multiple gunshots in the area on their way to the scene.

Police found Megan with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
