Peoria School District 150 Superintendent Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat is using some of her final weeks in office to fight for continued funding of the Teacher Vacancy Grant, a state program she said transformed how the district recruits and keeps teachers.

Michael Curry has been selected as the Peoria Public Schools District 150’s new chief financial officer, with the Board of Education approving his employment contract Monday.

The Peoria District 150 Board of Education approved Jerry Bell as the new school superintendent effective July 1. The other finalist for the post, Renee Andrews, will assume the newly-created position of deputy superintendent.
