Devaughn Owens

The Peoria Police Department is looking for an 18-year-old man in connection with a Saturday night shooting at an apartment complext near downtown.

Peoria Police Officer Amy Dotson said officers were called to the hospital just after 9 p.m. on a report of a man who was shot in the face. A crime scene was found in an apartment in the 700 block of N. Hightower, Dotson said.

The man's injuries are considered serious, but non-life threatening.

Devaughn J. Owens, 18, is a suspect in the incident. Dotson said he is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

The shooting is not believed to be connected to the 13 people shot around 4:45 a.m. Sunday on the Peoria riverfront, Dotson said.

Peoria police ask anyone with information on Owens' whereabouts to call them at (309) 673-4521 or CrimeStoppers anonymously at (309) 673-9000.
