Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the woman killed when a vehicle hit a pedestrian Wednesday.

Harwood says the woman is 66-year old Deana Viano, of East Peoria. He says the autopsy on Viano shows she suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and likely died instantly.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to the area of Knoxville Avenue and Orchard Place shortly before 7 p.m. Viano was on the ground. A citizen at the scene and paramedics attempted emergency life saving measures.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood pronounced Viano dead at the scene.

Officials say the driver of the vehicle that hit Viano remained on the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Peoria Police Department Traffic Unit.
