Peoria Police: 14-year old boy injured in Tuesday night shooting

A 14-year old boy was injured after a Tuesday night shooting on MacArthur Highway in Peoria.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers on patrol found the teen lying injured in the road in the 200 block of MacArthur around 11 p.m. The boy had an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said a ShotSpotter alert was received from that location minutes later, indicating five rounds were fired.

The incident remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department. There is no suspect information at this time.
