Peoria County Deputy Fired For Unprofessional Conduct

A 20-year veteran of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was terminated for unprofessional conduct.

Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell says Deputy Jason Patterson was found guilty of 8 charges by the Merit Commission, including conduct unbecoming of a deputy, willful mistreatment of a person, and false reporting.

Patterson was fired Monday. He was placed on leave in 2017.

Asbell declined to comment further on the charges because it is a personnel matter. Patterson has the right to appeal his termination.
