Peoria police are investigating the year’s 14th homicide.
24-year-old Jaware A. Cole of Peoria died Tuesday evening at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. He was one of two victims shot in the early morning hours of July 6 in the 700 block of Percy Baker Jr. Ave.
Cole was reportedly wounded in the face. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Cole’s autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
The second victim’s name and current condition haven’t been released.
Peoria Police Lt. Michael Boland said there are no arrests in connection with the case.
