A walker discovered the body of a Peoria woman floating in the Illinois River around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, the walker saw the body while on a trail just north of the RiverPlex.

The coroner's office has identified the body as a 58-year-old Peoria woman. Harwood said the identification was made in connection with a missing persons report made to the Peoria Police Department on Monday night.

The woman's name is being withheld at this time, while the office notifies family members.

Harwood said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday and "foul play cannot be ruled out."
