Peoria County Searching for Missing Princeville Residents

Peoria County Sheriff's Office

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a Peoria County couple.

Sheriff Brian Asbell says Antonio Ramirez Barron and Susan Brill de Ramirez of Princeville are missing.

Deputies were called the Ramirez residence on North Maher Road about 10:00 p.m. Sunday by the couple’s son on the report of a burglary. The sheriff says deputies found blood at the scene consistent with a struggle and a violence crime.

The couple, both 63, are Bradley University professionals. Antonio Ramirez Barron is a technology support specialist. Dr. Brill de Ramirez is the Caterpillar Professor of English and a coordinator of graduate studies. They were last seen at work on campus last Thursday.

Sheriff Asbell reports smaller items were taken from the home. The vehicles belonging to Barron and de Ramirez were found at the residence. A search and rescue operation is ongoing.

Authorities are currently speaking with persons of interest who are familiar with the household, but Sheriff Asbell stresses the case is being investigated as a missing persons.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Antonio Ramirez Barron and Susan Brill de Ramirez is asked to call the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office as 309-697-7822.
