41-year-old Sean Juergens was killed Tuesday night in the area of Route 24 and Mendenhall Road.
The Peoria man was apparently walking north on Route 24 near the Mendenhall Road intersection when he was struck by a passenger vehicle about 8:15 p.m. The Peoria County Coroner says the car immediately stopped and the driver called 911.
Juergens was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital just before 9:00. He died of multiple blunt force injuries and trauma. Toxicology tests are pending.
