The Illinois Women Artists Project has a new administrative home at Bradley University. The project was founded, and previously operated independently by, Channy Lyons. Lyons is also the producer of the Peoria’s Hidden Treasures series on WCBU.
Her Illinois Women Artists initiative serves to discover and document the work of women artist in Illinois through research and an online database, exhibits, symposia and other avenues.
Kristan McKinsey is the new Director of the Project. McKinsey retired earlier this month after more than 20 years as the Curator of Peoria Riverfront Museum and its predecessor Lakeview Museum. Lyons remains involved with the Illinois Women Artists Project. She’s currently planning a Symposium for November 2-3, 2017.
