‘Faces Of The East Bluff’ Has Permanent Home

The Faces Of the East Bluff photography project now has a permanent home.  The public art initiative is on display throughout the East Bluff Community Center.  Center Board member Lisa Fisher says they’ve received positive responses from who’ve seen the photographs of people who live and work in the East Bluff:

“Where people come into the community center and they see themselves, or they see their neighbor, or they see someone that’s just like them and it just builds on that sense of community.”

The Faces Of the East Bluff started as a mural project in the city.  Third District City Councilman Tim Riggenbach says the project reflects other growth in the East Bluff, like the Wisconsin Avenue Business Corridor Plan:

“The reason this is going to be sustainable is because it truly is coming from the grassroots and it’s coming from the people who live here who work here, who have a vested interest here.”

Associated Bank also awarded a grant to put individual ‘face’ pictures on display at two gallery art events earlier this summer.
