Renovated East Bluff home celebrated, on the market

A Peoria non-profit group held a ribbon-cutting for its first home renovation in the East Bluff neighborhood.  The Peoria Opportunities Foundation held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the home at 1700 N. Wisconsin Avenue.  Foundation director Jane Genzel says the improvements include new paint, central air, and kitchen appliances:

“I mean I’ve heard people living in small houses paying $250, $300 a month in utilities. Where this house, because of the insulation and upgrades that we’ve done, the utilities should be lower.”

The Peoria Opportunities Foundation bought the home and Greater Peoria LISC paid for renovations, respectively.  Genzel says the home is now for sale, and potential buyers must meet income requirements.  She says the home is one step towards revitalizing the East Bluff neighborhood.
