New phase for Peoria’s East Bluff mural project

Alex Rusciano

City officials continue to celebrate a new mural on display in Peoria’s East Bluff.  The public art initiative launched last month, featuring large photographs of people who live and work in the East Bluff.  Third District City Councilman Tim Riggenbach says the project will help boost area business interest:

“Our ultimate goal of course is to make Wisconsin Avenue a destination again. So this is just another step in that direction.”

Associated Bank awarded a grant to put individual ‘face’ pictures on display at two gallery art events this summer.  Riggenbach says the mural prints will eventually become a permanent art display at the East Bluff Community Center.
