Lisa Madigan warns of home-repair scams following tornadoes

Cass Herrington / Peoria Public Radio

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is warning residents affected by last week’s severe weather to watch for home repair scams.  Tornadoes moved through Delavan in Tazewell County and south of Galesburg through Cameron.  Madigan says these home repair con-artists will move into recently-damaged areas and pressure residents to make impulsive decisions about cleanup.  She says residents should call her office’s consumer fraud hotline or law enforcement to report suspicious behavior.
