Peoria's only Charter School prepares to move forward

Peoria’s only charter school is set to move ahead. The Quest Charter Academy Board unanimously approved a new five year contract with Peoria School District 150.

It’s also preparing to transition from a management company to hiring a full time professional executive director. Tom Fliege is the Vice Chairman of the Quest Board. He says the group remains committed to being open about the process with teachers, parents and students.

“We’re going to continue to have question and answer opportunities so that we can continue to give reassurance to people who are wondering what’s going on, when it’s going to happen and how it’s going to happen.”

Quest is also joining with Peoria Heights to have a football program next year. Fliege says it’s part of an effort to round out the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Academy’s offerings that aim to ensure students are college ready.
