OSF Saint Francis CEO retiring

The long-time President and CEO of OSF Saint Francis Medical  Center is stepping down at the end of this year. Keith Steffen has served in the role for 17 years, but has been with the hospital for about 34 years. Steffen says he’s leaving the position to spend more time with family.

During his tenure, Steffen was involved in the introduction of many medical and health care innovations in Peoria including the installation of the first CT Scanner in Central Illinois, the expansion of Life Flight and the development of the Illinois Neurological Institute.

Steffen also oversaw many construction projects that have expanded Saint Francis over the years. They include the medical center’s first comprehensive outpatient facility in north Peoria, the Milestone Building Project as well as the Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center.

Steffen plans to stay in his role as President and CEO at Saint Francis until his replacement is named.
