A 49-year-old Dixon woman died Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 39 near Minonk.
A media release from Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman says Lulije Cosentino was the driver of a vehicle that was rear-ended by the second vehicle in the southbound lanes at mile marker 22 shortly before 10 a.m.
Cosentino was pronounced dead at the scene an hour later. Others injured in the collision were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions were not provided.
Ruestman said an autopsy and toxicology tests will be performed. The accident remains under investigation by the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office.
