Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to impact Greater Peoria through late Thursday evening.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m. that includes Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.

The line of storms is projected to weaken to the south, with the greatest risk in areas stretching from Peoria to Springfield and eastward.

Very large hail and damaging winds are the primary concerns, though a possibility for tornadoes exists through the mid evening.
