A second person has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last weekend at a Peoria apartment complex.

Peoria Police said officers took Reginald Flemister-Tolson, 23, into custody on Wednesday on preliminary charges of home invasion, armed robbery, and aggravated battery with a firearm. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail without incident.

Police said detectives identified Flemister-Tolson at a residence in the Lexington Hills Apartments in the 3400 block of West Oakcrest Drive, where 17-year-old Matthew Day was shot and killed last Saturday night.

On Tuesday, prosecutors announced home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated battery charges against a 17-year-old male who also was linked to the shooting. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s office said the teens were participating in a planned home invasion.

A 21-year-old man also was found with bullet holes to his legs.

Peoria Police say the investigation is ongoing. They ask anyone with information on the case to call detective Scott Hulse at (309) 494-8391. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Tip411 or by calling Crimestoppers at (309) 673-9000.
