Line of severe storms brings tornado watches, warning to Tri-County

National Weather Service Lincoln

Tornado warnings and watches issued by the National Weather Service in Lincoln across the Central Illinois region have expired after an outbreak of tornadic thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon.

Peoria County Director of Emergency Management and Preparedness R. Jason Marks told WCBU weather spotters visiting regions in Peoria County impacted by the storms did not find any signs of significant storm damage.

Officials in Tazewell, Woodford and Fulton counties are still evaluating the impact of the storms.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms continue to strengthen heading into eastern Illinois.
