The Bartonville Police Department is reminding residents to stay away from power lines downed by Friday night's strong storms and wind.

In a Facebook post, the department says the lines could still be hot or active. Police say to avoid the area of Meadow Lane and Pershing Avenue, as well as all related intersections and side streets. Roads in the area will remain closed until Ameren completes clean-up work.

As of 6 a.m. Saturday, Bartonville Police say Ameren is in the area and aware of the downed lines, but has not provided an approximate completion time for cleanup efforts.
