Marquette Heights woman killed in house fire identified

A woman has died following a house fire in Marquette Heights.

The Marquette Heights Fire Department was alerted of the fire at 6:02 a.m. Friday. The North Pekin and Creve Coeur Fire Departments also assisted.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said in a release that 41-year-old Fiona McCormick was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at 7:05 a.m.

The cause and manner of death is pending further investigation. No foul play is suspected.

The case is under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshall, Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner's Office.
