One person is dead following an apartment fire early Monday morning northwest of Washington.

Crews from the Spring Bay Fire Protection District responded to a duplex in the 100 block of Spring Creek Terrace around 5:30 a.m. They found flames showing from windows on the south apartment.

Spring Bay had 18 firefighters on the site, while teams from the Germantown Hills and Washington fire departments assisted in battling the blaze.
