A senior from Dunlap High School was killed in a crash overnight in Peoria, according to the Peoria County coroner.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Orange Prairie Road near the Louisville Slugger Complex at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, coroner Jamie Harwood said in a news release.

Harwood said a northbound vehicle driven by Nevaeh Mitchell, 18, of Princeville, collided with a southbound vehicle in the northbound lanes.

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:27 a.m. Sunday, according to the coroner.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said. No arrest was made.

Harwood said the case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.

An autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
