Out and About in Greater Peoria: Murder mystery, Romance Concert and a trivia fundraiser

Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Feb. 16 through Feb. 18, 2024, curated by WCBU's Meagan Ruger-Smith. You can find more coverage on our Out & About - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WCBU's Weekend Fanfare email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

A whodunit in Mackinaw: This weekend the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard presents: Murder Mystery-The Hills are ALIVE with the Sound of Murder! Arrive before the show for seating, wine tasting and “mingling” with the cast, this is your chance to let them know if you want to participate in the show. Wine can be sampled at the tasting bar and wine can be purchased by the bottle or glass. Beer and sodas also available. Dinner is served buffet style after the first act and dessert is served tableside.

Love (and music) is in there air: On Saturday, take part in a romantic evening at the Peoria Symphony Orchestra's annual Romance Concert. Enjoy live music, drinks and dancing. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center Theater. Be sure to stop by the WCBU table in the lobby to say hi and enter our date night and merch giveaway!

Test your knowledge while helping others: Trivia is coming to the Barracks Cater Inn in Peoria on Sunday. The Peoria Area World Affairs Council is hosting a trivia fundraiser to support global education programs across Central Illinois. Along with trivia, there will be a raffle prize giveaway at the end of the night. Tickets are $20 per person and include a raffle ticket.
