2 people were shot and several vehicles were hit during a high-speed chase in Peoria

Peoria Police said two people were hospitalized for gunshot wounds following a high-speed chase early Saturday evening.

According to a news release from Lt. Michael Boland, officers heard shots fired near the 900 block of West McClure Ave. at about 6:08 p.m. Boland said witnesses reported a blue vehicle was chasing and shooting at a black vehicle as they traveled at excessive speeds.

Police said two male gunshot victims came to OSF St. Francis Medical Center at about 6:14 p.m. in one of the cars from the shooting incident. Police have not released information about their conditions.

Police officers said several parked vehicles were hit by gunfire and officers found multiple shell casings strewn across several hundred yards.

Peoria PD diverted traffic around the 700 to 1200 blocks of McClure during the investigation. Police have not reported any arrests in the case and say it’s an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Peoria Police at (3090 673-4521, Tip411 or Crime Stoppers.
